Faucet and Sink Repair in Port Hueneme, CA

Most faucet problems come down to a worn cartridge, a bad seat or a tired supply line. We find the part, fix it and leave the sink working like new.

A dripping faucet wastes water and money. A leaking sink trap ruins the cabinet below. A faucet that will not shut off at all is more urgent, and our 24/7 line will send someone for that. This page covers faucet and sink repair for the common cases, most of which we can finish in one visit.

If water is running and will not stop, close the shutoff valves under the sink by turning them clockwise. If those do not work, close the main water valve for the house and call.

Where the leak shows tells us where to look. A drip at the spout points to the cartridge or seat. Water pooling in the cabinet could be the supply lines, the shutoff valves or the drain trap. We dry everything, run the faucet and trace the water upward.

Hard water and faucet wear

The city reports tap water hardness at about 210 parts per million in its 2025 water quality report, which is about 12 grains per gallon by our conversion. Hard water leaves scale on aerators, cartridges and shower heads, and it makes stems and seats wear faster. Cleaning an aerator takes a few minutes and often restores flow. A cartridge stiff with scale may need replacing.

Shutoff valves under the sink

Old angle stops are a common source of trouble. They seize from lack of use or weep around the stem when turned. Replacing the shutoff valve at the same time as a faucet is cheap insurance, because a valve that will not close is the reason a small repair turns into a flooded cabinet. If a valve will not shut off the fixture in an emergency, our burst pipe repair team treats it as an urgent call.

What affects the price of faucet and sink repair

Faucet jobs range from a washer to a full fixture swap. These factors decide where yours lands.

Repair or replace

A cartridge or washer costs less than a new faucet and install.

Brand and parts

Common models have parts on the truck. Some specialty or older faucets need ordering.

Valve and line condition

Seized shutoffs and corroded lines may need replacement.

Fixture type

A kitchen sink with a sprayer takes longer than a basic bathroom faucet.

Access

A tight cabinet or a wall-mounted fixture adds time.

Insurance covers sudden water damage in some cases but not a worn faucet. If a failed supply line flooded a cabinet, photograph the damage.

California fixture flow rules

State law under SB 407 defines noncompliant interior faucets as those using more than 2.2 gallons per minute in buildings built on or before January 1, 1994, and noncompliant showerheads as those using more than 2.5 gallons per minute. Replacement deadlines for single-family homes were January 1, 2017, with a seller disclosure requirement. When we replace a faucet, the new model meets current flow limits.

Leak under the sink: what to do first

  • Close the small supply valves under the sink by turning them clockwise until snug.
  • Empty the cabinet and put a bowl under the drip so you can see how fast it fills.
  • Do not use a wrench on old valves that will not turn, because forcing them can snap the stem.
  • Photograph any wet cabinet base or swollen wood, which helps if an insurance claim follows.

Questions about Faucet and Sink Repair in Port Hueneme

A worn cartridge, washer or seat usually lets water past when the faucet is off. The fix depends on the faucet type, and we bring the common parts.

If the faucet is in good shape and a part is worn, repair is cheaper. If the finish is failing, parts are not available or it has leaked repeatedly, replacement makes more sense.

Close the main water valve for the house and call. We replace the valve so you can isolate the fixture next time.

Yes. We install customer-supplied faucets and check the supply lines and shutoffs at the same time.

Our 24/7 line covers any plumbing leak that cannot be stopped. A dripping faucet can wait for a scheduled visit, but a fixture that will not shut off should be called in right away.
